Indonesia Energy Completes Rig Mobilization at Kruh Block, Plans Late-June Spud for K-29
INDO•Indonesia Energy Corporation has completed rig mobilization at its 64,000-acre Kruh Block for the K-29 well, scheduled to begin spudding in late June 2026. The company plans to follow with drilling at the WK-5 well and has outlined a detailed installation-to-spud timeline.
1. Rig Mobilization Completed
Indonesia Energy Corporation has finished mobilizing and centering the drilling rig for the K-29 well on its 64,000-acre Kruh Block. The rig is fully set up at the wellsite, marking the first of two planned wells for 2026.
2. Operational Challenges
The company navigated recent flooding and diesel fuel shortages in Indonesia, as well as heightened competition for certified rig personnel due to Middle East tensions. These issues have delayed sector projects but were overcome for K-29 preparation.
3. Near-Term Drilling Timeline
IEC expects to complete rig-up and crew readiness by mid-June, finish function testing by late June, secure government inspection by month-end, and spud the K-29 well in late June 2026. This schedule aims to expedite drilling operations despite prior disruptions.
4. Future Drilling Plans
Following K-29, Indonesia Energy will initiate the WK-5 well as part of its 2026 Kruh Block campaign. Strengthened global oil prices from ongoing geopolitical tensions may enhance project returns and shareholder value.
