Ingredion Q3 profit misses estimates as soft demand, higher costs weigh
INGR•Ingredion reported Q3 sales of $1.79 billion and adjusted EPS of $2.28, below analyst estimates of $1.80 billion and $2.60. It lowered its 2026 adjusted diluted EPS outlook to $9.25-$9.70 and expects flat net sales.
1. Quarterly results
Ingredion’s Q3 sales slightly missed estimates, while adjusted EPS missed by more substantially. The company reported Q3 EPS of $2.23.
2. Factors weighing on profit
Ingredion cited higher manufacturing and input costs, including at the Argo facility and in tapioca sourcing, as well as softer food and beverage demand and volume declines in the U.S. and Canada. Net sales decreased primarily because of the sale of a majority stake in its Pakistan business.
3. 2026 outlook
Ingredion lowered its full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS outlook to $9.25-$9.70. It expects net sales to be flat, with volume growth offset by lower price mix, reported operating income to fall by a low double-digit percentage and adjusted operating income to decline by a mid-teens percentage.
