Initial global sales of Apple iPhone 18 Pro higher than 17 series
AAPL•Global sales of Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro series were 3.1% higher in its first three weeks than sales of the iPhone 17 Pro series over the same period a year earlier. Sales rose 29% in China but fell 4% in the U.S. and 27% in Japan.
1. Mixed early sales
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro series recorded 3.1% higher global sales in its first three weeks after launch than the iPhone 17 Pro series did over the same period a year earlier, Counterpoint Research said. Sales rose 29% in China, the strongest growth of any market, while sales in the United States fell 4% and in Japan fell 27%.
2. Regional factors
Counterpoint said stronger early stock of the new models and price increases for rival Chinese Android flagships boosted demand in China. Excluding China, global sales growth would have been far weaker. In the United States, consumers saw few meaningful feature or design improvements to justify the price, while exchange rates amplified price increases in Japan.
3. Pro Max share
The iPhone 18 Pro Max accounted for 56% of sales within the iPhone 18 Pro series, down slightly from 57% a year earlier.
