Innovent Biologics licenses anti-CD40L antibody IBI355 to Spero in deal worth about USD 1.1 billion

Spero targets a Phase 2 start in IgG4-related disease in Q2 2027; Innovent plans a China Phase 2 in Sjögren’s disease by early 2027.

Innovent Biologics licensed IBI355 (SP001), a Phase 2-ready Fc-silent anti-CD40L antibody, to Spero in an exclusive deal outside Greater China.

Spero secured global rights excluding Greater China for development, manufacturing, research, and commercialization; Innovent retained rights in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

Innovent will receive an upfront payment and is eligible for development, regulatory, and commercial milestones totaling about USD 1.1 billion. The agreement also includes tiered royalties on net sales in Spero’s territories.
