Insteel's fiscal fourth-quarter sales rose 17.9% year over year to $209.3 million, while net earnings fell to $7.7 million and EPS declined to $0.40. Higher raw material, freight and operating costs outweighed higher selling prices, and shipments increased 10.6%.
Insteel reported fiscal fourth-quarter sales of $209.3 million, up 17.9% year over year. Net earnings declined to $7.7 million from a year earlier, and EPS was $0.40.
The company said higher average selling prices helped lift sales, while shipments rose 10.6%, largely due to an additional week in its fiscal calendar and a broader engineered structural mesh customer base. Gross margin declined as higher raw material costs and inflation in freight and operating costs outpaced selling-price increases.
Insteel consolidated its welded wire operations and incurred restructuring charges in the quarter. It expects about $30 million in capital expenditures for fiscal 2027, continued growth in engineered structural mesh shipments through 2027, and cost reductions from the consolidation in 2027.
