1. Comcast Launches National Expansion of BridgingApps Through Project UP
Comcast has committed $1 billion to Project UP, a nationwide effort to enhance digital inclusion, by funding the expansion of Easter Seals Greater Houston’s BridgingApps program. In 2026, the initiative will onboard five new affiliates—Easterseals of Oak Hill (Connecticut), Easterseals Iowa, Easterseals Delaware, Easterseals Midwest and Easterseals Evansville (Indiana)—bringing the App Search Tool and digital literacy resources to an additional 2,500 individuals with disabilities. Participating staff will receive hands-on training to integrate accessible apps into therapeutic, early-childhood and employment services, and to customize device settings for clients’ home and work environments. A successful Phase I pilot in 2025 trained 120 professionals across five affiliates in Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Texas and Pennsylvania.
