1. Premarket performance
Intel shares rose 1.4% in premarket trading as Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 1.2%, spurred by news of a temporary U.S.-Iran ceasefire over the Strait of Hormuz. The renewed risk appetite helped lift technology stocks following a week of steep declines for megacap names.
2. Citi AI compute rankings
Citi analysts refreshed their AI compute semiconductor leaderboard, ranking Intel third among large caps behind AMD and CBRS. The bank emphasized that DRAM memory shortages are the primary constraint on AI compute supply, with strategic memory agreements extending through 2030.
