Interactive Brokers Enables In-Kind Crypto Transfers With Fees of 0.12%-0.18%

IBKRIBKR

Interactive Brokers is enabling in-kind transfers of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and other cryptocurrencies from external wallets to its platform without liquidation, charging 0.12%-0.18% fees. This builds on its January launch of 24/7 stablecoin funding and February addition of Coinbase perpetual futures, reinforcing its all-in-one trading strategy.

1. Feature Details

Interactive Brokers now allows clients to transfer supported cryptocurrencies directly from external wallets into their IBKR accounts without selling the assets. The in-kind transfers apply to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and other tokens, with commissions set between 0.12% and 0.18% of trade value, significantly undercutting the industry average.

2. Recent Platform Enhancements

In January the firm introduced 24/7 funding for stablecoins, enabling seamless fiat-stablecoin conversions at any hour. In February it added Coinbase’s perpetual-style derivatives futures, expanding its crypto offerings to include institutional-grade products alongside spot transfers.

3. Strategic Positioning

By integrating low-cost crypto transfers, round-the-clock stablecoin access and futures trading in one interface, Interactive Brokers aims to become a unified hub for both equities and digital assets. This move is designed to attract traders seeking professional tools and global market access under a single account.
