Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) announced in a circular published late Wednesday that it will lengthen its daily trading window for European natural gas and power futures and options beginning February 23, 2026. The extension will add two additional trading hours each day, bringing contract availability from the current 09:00–17:00 London Time to 07:00–19:00 London Time. This change impacts over 20 benchmark contracts, including key Dutch TTF gas futures and German Cal ’27 power options, which together account for roughly €1.8 trillion in notional value traded on ICE in 2025. By aligning with extended market hours on competing platforms and accommodating increasing demand for intraday risk management, ICE expects to boost average daily open interest by 15% and trading volumes by 10%, enhancing liquidity during traditionally thin pre- and post-session periods.
