InterDigital to Demo MIMO-Federated Learning and AI Teleoperation at 6G Forum

InterDigital will demonstrate multi-user MIMO Over-the-Air Federated Learning that reduces spectrum use and improves energy efficiency at the 6G@UT Forum in Austin on April 9. The company will also showcase AI-enabled teleoperation with predictive agents stabilizing uplink video and a GenAI assistant for safer remote vehicle control.

1. Forum Presentation

InterDigital, a founding member of the 6G@UT Research Center, will present at the fifth annual 6G@UT Forum at The University of Texas at Austin’s Mulva Auditorium on April 9, highlighting its latest AI and wireless technology advances.

2. Federated Learning Demonstration

The company will conduct a live hardware demonstration of multi-user multiple input multiple output (MIMO) Over-the-Air Federated Learning (OTA-FL), showcasing reduced spectrum usage and improved energy efficiency by aggregating AI model updates directly at edge devices over cellular links.

3. Teleoperation Technology Showcase

InterDigital will showcase AI-driven teleoperation solutions featuring predictive AI agents that stabilize real-time uplink video over cellular networks and a Generative AI assistant that enhances operator decision-making for remote vehicle control under degraded network conditions.

4. 6G Standards Panel Participation

Douglas Castor, InterDigital’s Head of Wireless Research, will participate in the “6G: What’s In, What’s Out, and Why?” panel alongside industry peers, sharing the company’s perspective on research directions, standardization efforts, and pre-standard technologies shaping the next generation of wireless networks.
