Atle Monrad has been re-elected for a second term to chair the 3GPP SA6 working group, which manages service architecture, procedures and information flows for vertical services and critical communications. His upcoming term will emphasize defining service frameworks and requirements to support next-generation 6G system development.

1. Monrad Re-Elected to Chair 3GPP SA6

Atle Monrad has been re-elected for a second two-year term as chair of 3GPP SA6, the working group responsible for service architecture, procedures and information flows that enable applications, vertical services and critical communications.

2. Focus on Next-Generation 6G Service Frameworks

In his upcoming term, Monrad will lead efforts to define detailed service frameworks and technical requirements that underpin the development of next-generation 6G network capabilities for industrial, public safety and emerging service provider applications.

3. Extensive Standardization Leadership

A contributor to 3GPP since 2001, Monrad previously served two terms as CT Plenary Chair and five terms as CT1 Working Group Chair, leading initiatives to enhance service exposure and application enablement across GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G standards.
