On March 2, Intuitive Surgical formalized the acquisition of the da Vinci and Ion distribution business previously operated by ab medica, Abex and Excelencia Robótica, bringing these operations fully under its European commercial and marketing organization.

As of December 31, 2025, the combined installed base of da Vinci surgical systems across Italy, Spain and Portugal exceeds 470 units, while the Ion endoluminal system has been recently launched in Italy and Spain to broaden clinical offerings.
