Intuitive Surgical outlined an AI strategy for its da Vinci surgery systems, targeting reduced variability, improved outcomes, faster training and expanded surgeon reach.
The company said the plan uses a dataset of more than 20 million da Vinci procedures to build tools ranging from analytics to “supervised autonomy.”

Intuitive also showcased surgical AI models designed to answer context-rich intraoperative questions, saying early testing showed they outperformed general-purpose AI.
The company planned a live da Vinci 5 telesurgery demonstration linking Sunnyvale, California, with Atlanta, Georgia, using shared control and force feedback.
