Ionic Digital backs Abbott push for responsible Texas data center growth

Ionic Digital backed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s push for tighter oversight of data center development tied to grid reliability.

The company said it is committed to participate in a PUCT and ERCOT verification and audit process covering large power users.

CEO Andy Stewart pledged “thoughtful planning” on power and water use to protect ratepayers while supporting continued growth.

The company pointed to its Ward County campus as a major West Texas investment, and said the audit can serve as a framework for future projects.
