IONQ•IonQ advanced to Stage C of DARPA’s Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, triggering independent validation of its fault-tolerant quantum computing roadmap. The agreement could be worth up to $300 million, subject to future appropriations and DARPA funding actions.
1. Stage C agreement
The program runs through 2029 and covers multiple generations of IonQ’s Superion systems under DARPA verification and performance testing. IonQ cited its sixth-generation system, Superion 256, as current hardware supporting its utility-scale development plan.
