Skyloom Global, an IonQ unit, lifted on-orbit optical communications terminal installations to 84 following a July 16, 2026 launch.
The terminals flew on York Space Systems satellites supporting the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture transport layer.
The deployment expands Skyloom’s operational laser communications footprint in low-Earth orbit, strengthening its position in defense-focused space networking.
