IonQ received a $28 million DARPA contract extension under the It’s About Time program to scale Evergreen-05 optical atomic clock production.
- The award modifies an existing DARPA agreement, covering manufacturing development, delivery of 25 clocks, and a $30 million option for 100 more.
- If exercised, the option would lift total program value to as much as $58 million, with 125 units slated for U.S. government customers.
- IonQ plans $15 million of investment in dedicated production space, manufacturing and test equipment, and additional staff to support deliveries.
