IonQ wins USD 28 million DARPA contract extension to deliver 125 optical atomic clocks

Evergreen-05 is a compact 5-liter optical atomic clock. IonQ cited 50-femtosecond stability at one second.
IonQ also plans USD 15 million of investment in dedicated production space, manufacturing and test equipment, and support staff for deliveries.
DARPA contract extension for optical atomic clocks
IonQ won a USD 28 million DARPA contract extension under the It’s About Time program to scale production of Evergreen-05 optical atomic clocks.
The deal calls for delivery of 125 units to US government customers for mission-critical uses such as radar, secure communications, and precision geolocation.
