iRhythm Joins Alliance to Deploy Four AI Imaging Units for 16M CHD Patients
IRTC•iRhythm Technologies joined a new Global Congenital Heart Disease Alliance that will deploy four Ventripoint AI cardiac-imaging units to address diagnostic gaps affecting 16 million CHD patients, over 90% of whom lack timely care in lower-income regions. The consortium aims to fast-track commercialization and global adoption of advanced cardiovascular diagnostics.
1. Global Alliance Formation
The Global Congenital Heart Disease Alliance (GCHDA) unites industry partners, clinicians and researchers to accelerate development and adoption of congenital cardiovascular technologies. Founding members include Ventripoint Diagnostics, HeartFlow, Butterfly Network, Tempus AI and iRhythm Technologies, reflecting a concerted effort to tackle inequities in CHD care.
2. AI Imaging Unit Deployment
As part of its inaugural initiative, the alliance will fund and place four Ventripoint VMS+ AI-enabled echocardiography units in underserved regions. These units deliver cardiac-MRI-level measurements at the point of care, targeting a growing population of 16 million congenital heart disease patients, over 90% of whom currently lack timely diagnostics.
3. Strategic Benefits for iRhythm
Membership provides iRhythm with direct commercial exposure in the congenital diagnostics ecosystem and opportunities for collaboration on imaging integration. Participation in alliance summits and research initiatives could enhance iRhythm’s visibility among cardiology leaders and support future revenue streams in emerging markets.
