ITUB•Itaú Unibanco agreed to acquire all shares of Brazilian AI startup NeoSpace for R$ 2.93 billion, with completion subject to regulatory clearances and other conditions.
1. Deal terms and conditions
Itaú Unibanco agreed on Oct. 26, 2026, to acquire all shares of NeoSpace for R$ 2.93 billion. Part of the purchase price is payable at closing, with the remaining installments deferred over five years, subject to conditions; completion requires clearance from Brazil’s antitrust authority CADE and central bank, alongside other closing conditions.
2. AI development
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Itaú Unibanco’s proprietary AI capabilities and support development of its generative AI assistant, ia.i. NeoSpace will retain autonomous management and its existing team.
