Itron Highlights 70GWh Dispatch, Resiliency Solutions Launch and Microsoft Copilot Connector
At DTECH 2026, Itron showcases AI/ML upgrades to its Grid Edge portfolio with NVIDIA and Microsoft partnerships, highlighted by over 70GWh dispatched load in 2025. It also launched a Resiliency Solutions segment integrating Urbint and Locusview and introduced an IEOS Connector for Microsoft 365 Copilot to surface real-time meter insights.
1. Showcasing Grid Edge Intelligence at DTECH 2026
At DTECH 2026 in San Diego (Feb. 2–5), Itron will demonstrate its Grid Edge Intelligence portfolio, which has powered more than 16 million distributed-intelligence-enabled meters and manages over 100 million endpoints globally. In 2025 alone, the portfolio dispatched 70 GWh of flexible customer load and generation. The standards-based, pre-integrated solutions on display promise utilities improved power quality, reliable delivery and more accurate forecasting, while reducing total cost of ownership through end-to-end visibility and control at the grid edge.
2. Expanding AI and Ecosystem Partnerships
Itron is enhancing grid-edge functionality with edge-based AI and ML in collaboration with NVIDIA, Microsoft, AWS, Snowflake, Gordian Technologies, NET2GRID and Bidgely. These integrations will enable real-time, AI-powered insights into load disaggregation, DER management and outage detection. Itron’s updated DER Awareness bundle—powered by NET2GRID EnergyAI™—achieves over 90% accuracy in identifying EV charging events and solar generation at the meter, while Schneider Electric collaboration adds predictive analytics for DER optimization and grid modernization.
3. Launch of Resiliency Solutions Segment
Leveraging its recent acquisitions of Urbint and Locusview, Itron has formed a new Resiliency Solutions segment that integrates Urbint’s Protection Solutions (for hazard identification, damage prevention and emergency response), Locusview’s Digital Construction Management suite (spanning LocusviewBUILD for as-built capture, LocusviewCONNECT for GIS integration, LocusviewINSPECT for compliance inspections and LocusviewINVOICE for automated billing) and Itron’s Grid Edge Intelligence. This unified offering enables utilities to plan smarter, build faster and operate more safely—covering the full asset lifecycle from design through disaster response.
4. Executive Insights and Investor Impact
Itron President and CEO Tom Deitrich will deliver the opening-night keynote (Feb. 2, 4:30 p.m. PST), joined by executives from San Diego Gas & Electric, Pacific Gas & Electric and Duke Energy to discuss data-driven innovation in utilities. Investors should note that Itron’s leadership in distributed-intelligence deployments, strategic AI alliances and broadened product portfolio position the company to support accelerating electrification trends, grid modernization spending and resiliency investments across North America and internationally.
