Itron Highlights 16 Million DI-Enabled Meters and Resiliency Segment at DTECH 2026

ITRIITRI

Itron will showcase its Grid Edge Intelligence portfolio at DTECH 2026, highlighting 16 million DI-enabled meters shipped, 100 million endpoints managed and 70 GWh dispatched in 2025 with AI/ML integrations including NVIDIA collaboration. It also launches a Resiliency segment integrating Urbint and Locusview for grid management.

1. Itron Highlights Grid Edge Intelligence Advancements at DTECH 2026

Itron is showcasing its enhanced Grid Edge Intelligence portfolio at DTECH 2026 in San Diego, demonstrating solutions that deliver end-to-end visibility and control at the grid edge. The company has shipped over 16 million distributed intelligence–enabled meters and manages more than 100 million endpoints globally. In 2025 alone, Itron’s IntelliFLEX DERMS dispatched 70 GWh of flexible customer load and generation, hosted over 20 MW of battery storage and managed photovoltaic arrays across Australia’s three largest territories. At the show, Itron will spotlight AI-powered load disaggregation—powered by NET2GRID EnergyAI™—that achieves over 90 percent accuracy in detecting individual EV charging events and solar generation in real time.

2. New Resiliency Solutions Segment Integrates Urbint and Locusview Capabilities

Building on its recent acquisitions of Urbint and Locusview, Itron has formed a dedicated Resiliency Solutions segment to provide a unified suite of planning, operations and safety tools. Urbint’s Protection Solutions enable real-time hazard identification and “811” dig-request prioritization to prevent third-party damage. Locusview’s Digital Construction Management modules—BUILD, CONNECT, INSPECT and INVOICE—streamline high-fidelity field data collection, GIS integration, compliance inspections and invoice automation. By combining these offerings with its Grid Edge Intelligence stack, Itron delivers comprehensive lifecycle value from project planning through emergency response.

3. Expands Strategic AI Collaboration with Microsoft to Power IEOS Copilot Connector

Itron has deepened its long-standing partnership with Microsoft by introducing the Intelligent Edge Operating System (IEOS) Connector for Microsoft 365 Copilot. This integration grounds Copilot in trusted meter data and operations analytics, allowing natural-language queries on consumption patterns, outage history and transformer associations. The companies plan to integrate predictive maintenance, demand forecasting and grid optimization solutions into Microsoft’s unified data ecosystem and make them available via the Microsoft Marketplace. Early customer implementations are expected to reduce billing exception handling time by up to 30 percent while maintaining enterprise governance and access controls.
