Ivanhoe Mines cites Kipushi profit as key driver of Q3 2026 profit after tax of USD 45 million
Ivanhoe Mines reported Q3 2026 profit of USD 45 million, up from USD 31 million a year earlier, with Kipushi contributing USD 47 million in segment profit. The company lowered Kamoa-Kakula’s 2027 copper production guidance to 300,000–350,000 tonnes.
1. Quarterly profit rises
Ivanhoe Mines reported Q3 2026 profit of USD 45 million, compared with USD 31 million a year earlier. Management attributed earnings to Kipushi’s USD 47 million segment profit and Kamoa-Kakula’s USD 25 million contribution, partly offset by increased exploration spending. Kipushi’s quarterly EBITDA rose to USD 108 million from USD 27 million, helped by higher zinc sales volumes and prices.
2. Guidance lowered
Nine-month profit fell to USD 89 million from USD 188 million, with Kamoa Holding’s results affected by a USD 183 million tax adjustment. Management lowered Kamoa-Kakula’s 2027 copper production guidance to 300,000–350,000 tonnes, citing delayed Kakula stoping and a reduced estimated maximum mining rate.
