Jacobs Solutions posted Q1 fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS of $1.53, topping the Zacks estimate by $0.01 and rising from $1.33 a year earlier. 1. Jacobs Delivers Strong Q1 Financial Performance
Jacobs Solutions Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $1.53 per share for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.52 and up 15% from $1.33 a year earlier. Revenues grew year over year, driven by double-digit gains in both Infrastructure & Advanced Facilities and PA Consulting segments. The Infrastructure & Advanced Facilities unit saw a 12% increase in revenue, while PA Consulting grew 18%, reflecting robust demand across engineering, advisory and digital-solutions services.
2. Backlog Expansion and AI Infrastructure Tailwinds
Management highlighted a sharp rise in contract backlog, which expanded by 20% sequentially, underscoring accelerating activity across all end markets. Notably, AI infrastructure projects contributed to this growth, with Jacobs securing multiple data center design engagements estimated to represent over $200 million in potential backlog. Other secular drivers included transportation, water-wastewater and life-sciences facility work, supporting a positive outlook for mid-teens revenue growth in fiscal 2026.
3. Rating Upgrade and Upside Potential
Following the quarter, a leading independent analyst upgraded Jacobs from Market Perform to Outperform, citing the company’s underappreciated AI infrastructure exposure and backlog momentum. The analyst model projects a 31% upside to a target of 174.70, based on a blended multiple of 15x fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings. Key assumptions include continued margin expansion, driven by higher-margin consulting services and operational efficiencies in project execution.
4. Securing One of the World’s Largest Coastal Gate Projects
Jacobs was selected by the Gulf Coast Protection District to design the Bolivar Roads Gate System along the Texas Gulf Coast, a coastal storm surge barrier expected to protect more than six million residents and safeguard approximately $800 billion in regional assets. Supported by nearly $1 billion in state funding, the project will employ advanced sector gates and digital modeling to maintain the Houston Ship Channel’s operations. This award reinforces Jacobs’ leadership in resilience infrastructure, complementing its global portfolio of over 1,000 resilience projects and its $12 billion annual revenue base.
