JAGX•Jaguar Health said pediatric studies found oral crofelemer reduced intravenous nutritional support needs and improved growth in children with microvillus inclusion disease or short bowel syndrome-related intestinal failure. 1. Pediatric study findings
Jaguar Health's Napo Pharmaceuticals reviewed pediatric oral crofelemer findings at an October 30, 2026, gastroenterology conference in Dubai. Results showed reduced intravenous nutritional support needs and improved growth in children with microvillus inclusion disease or short bowel syndrome-related intestinal failure; patients treated for more than one year showed no significant clinical or laboratory abnormalities. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study in microvillus inclusion disease remains underway, and Napo plans to file a New Drug Application for the condition in mid-2027. The findings were previously presented in June 2026.
