Jaguar Health's crofelemer reduces daily parenteral support needs by about 15% in infant with congenital sodium diarrhea
JAGX•Jaguar Health reported that oral crofelemer reduced daily parenteral support needs by about 15% in an infant with congenital sodium diarrhea. Treatment was well tolerated during the first several weeks, with no significant clinical or laboratory abnormalities.
1. Infant treatment findings
Jaguar Health reported reduced intravenous nutritional support needs after an infant with intestinal failure caused by congenital sodium diarrhea received oral crofelemer. Treatment was well tolerated, with no significant clinical or laboratory abnormalities during the first several weeks.
2. Other research and plans
The company said the findings extend crofelemer's observed benefit to a third intestinal failure-related disorder under expanded access. Earlier findings presented in June 2026 showed reduced support needs in pediatric microvillus inclusion disease and short bowel syndrome. Jaguar Health plans to submit a US approval application for microvillus inclusion disease in mid-2027; its ongoing pivotal trial has completed enrollment.
