TLT•Japan's 20-year government bond yield fell as much as 6 basis points to 3.71% after an auction drew bids worth 5.84 times the amount sold, up from 4.01 times at the previous auction.
Japan's 20-year government bond yield fell as much as 6 basis points to 3.71% on Tuesday, its lowest level since September 9, after a strong auction for bonds of the same maturity. The auction's bid-to-cover ratio was 5.84, compared with 4.01 at the previous auction last month.
The 30-year yield fell 1.5 basis points to 3.970%, while the benchmark 10-year yield rose 1.5 basis points to 2.920%. Katsutoshi Inadome, a senior strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management, said the auction suggested many investors expected a bond-market rebound, as they turned to risk off after mass protests in France and a sell-off in CoreWeave stocks and bonds.
