Yen extends gains on BOJ tightening bets
The yen hit its strongest in seven months on Monday, extending recent gains driven by bets on a faster pace of Bank of Japan tightening, and the potential for Japanese investors to shift their funds home.
The dollar was last down over 1% on the day at 154.58 yen (JPY=), its lowest since February, gathering pace after falling past its August lows hit in the aftermath of joint U.S.-Japanese intervention to support the yen.
