Jasper Therapeutics rises; co announces all-stock merger with Kira Pharma

The combined company will focus on developing treatments for immune-related diseases, including Kira's lead drug candidate KP-104 for a rare blood disorder and kidney diseases, Jasper's briquilimab program and Kira's preclinical KP-701 antibody program.
Shares rise after merger announcement
- Shares of biotech Jasper Therapeutics (JSPR.O) rose 43% to $1.12 in extended trading.
- JSPR said it has completed its acquisition of privately held Kira Pharmaceuticals in an all-stock transaction.
CVR tied to potential voucher payments
Existing Jasper shareholders will receive a non-transferable CVR tied to potential $30 million aggregate payments if Jasper obtains and monetizes a priority review voucher for briquilimab by December 31, 2028.
Kira asset licensing and stock performance
Kira licensed two of its drug candidates, KP-301 and KP-402, to Mirador Therapeutics for $12 million upfront plus potential development and sales milestones, Jasper said.
As of the last close, JSPR stock was down 57% year to date.
