Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams hired David Stever, former Ben & Jerry’s CEO (May 2023–April 2025), as new chief executive to spearhead its next growth phase. The Columbus-based company runs over 90 scoop shops and supplies retailers like Whole Foods, Target and Kroger while pursuing franchising and product innovation.

1. Leadership Appointment

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams announced the appointment of David Stever as CEO, marking his return to ice-cream leadership after serving as CEO of Ben & Jerry’s from May 2023 to April 2025. Stever is tasked with steering the company’s next growth phase by leveraging his operational and brand-scaling expertise.

2. Operations and Retail Footprint

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Jeni’s operates more than 90 scoop shops across the US and supplies major retailers including Whole Foods Market, Target, Kroger and Albertson’s. The business expanded its distribution network through grocery and foodservice partnerships to broaden its market reach.

3. Growth and Expansion Strategy

Under Stever’s direction, Jeni’s will invest in breakthrough flavor development, new product formats and enhanced consumer experiences. The company initiated franchising in September to accelerate its geographic expansion and strengthen its presence in new communities.
