JetBlue will offer $99 rescue flights through May 6 for valid Spirit itineraries and cap Blue Basic fares at $299 for May 2-8 nonstop routes between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and San Juan (SJU). 1. Rescue Flight Program
JetBlue is operating $99 rescue flights through May 6 for travelers holding valid Spirit itineraries on matching routes or via co-located airports. This initiative aims to quickly rebook stranded passengers who planned to fly with Spirit Airlines before its shutdown.
2. Blue Basic Fare Cap
All Blue Basic fares purchased between May 1 and May 8 for travel from May 2 to May 8 on nonstop JetBlue-operated flights to and from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) and San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International (SJU) will be capped at $299. That ensures affordable rebooking options as demand spikes.
3. Crew Support and Network Expansion
JetBlue is extending jumpseat agreements and interviewing Spirit pilots and flight attendants displaced by the shutdown. To backfill service, the airline is launching 11 new routes from FLL and adding 27 additional flights, targeting nearly 130 daily departures this summer—a 75% increase over 2025 levels.
