TLT•Japanese government bond yields rose Friday as risk-off sentiment linked to CoreWeave's debt woes eased. The 10-year yield gained 1.5 basis points to 2.935%, while the two-year rose to 1.92% and the 20-year to 3.815%.
Japanese government bond yields rose Friday, rebounding from sharp declines in the previous session as risk-off sentiment eased. The benchmark 10-year yield increased 1.5 basis points to 2.935%, after falling to 2.885% earlier in the session; yields had reached more than one-month lows on Thursday as investors sought safe-haven assets.
“There was an excessive risk-off sentiment in the previous session, but that has retreated,” said Katsutoshi Inadome, a senior strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management. Rising U.S. Treasury yields in Asian trading made it easier for JGB investors to sell Japanese bonds, he said.
The two-year JGB yield rose 1.5 basis points to 1.92%, and the 20-year yield gained 3 basis points to 3.815%. CoreWeave shares and bonds had slumped earlier in the week, fueling a global selloff in AI stocks.
