Joby to Offer On-Demand Five-Minute eVTOL Flights at Century Plaza

JOBYJOBY

Joby Aviation partners with Reuben Brothers to convert Park Elm Residences’ Century Plaza helipad into an all-electric eVTOL vertiport and passenger lounge, offering residents on-demand five-minute flights across greater Los Angeles. The facility will use Joby’s zero-emission aircraft pending FAA certification and integrate directly into the building’s amenity package.

1. Partnership and Vertiport Development

Joby Aviation and Reuben Brothers will repurpose the existing helipad at Park Elm Residences in Century Plaza, Los Angeles, into a full-service eVTOL vertiport and passenger lounge. The vertiport will support charging, operations, and on-demand bookings for Joby’s quiet, zero-emission air taxis directly from the residential tower.

2. Operational Details and Aircraft Status

Joby’s aircraft is in the final stages of FAA certification, following successful piloted demonstration flights across the San Francisco Bay Area. Once approved, residents can book flights expected to cut typical two-hour ground trips to as little as five minutes within the Los Angeles metro area.

3. Strategic Impact and Network Expansion

This vertiport marks Joby’s first in a residential development and serves as the anchor for a planned Los Angeles vertiport network. The company’s participation in the White House-backed eVTOL Integration Pilot Program could accelerate early operations in 12 states, advancing its path to commercial service.
