Jones Act Waiver Spurs Waterborne shipments from US Gulf Coast in April and May, EIA Says
XLE•EIA says Gulf Coast waterborne shipments surged after Jones Act waiver
U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA):
- U.S. Gulf Coast to West Coast waterborne crude oil and petroleum products shipments more than quadrupled year-on-year in April and May after a Jones Act waiver.
- U.S. Gulf Coast to East Coast waterborne petroleum shipments hit a record 1.2 million bpd in April, 11% higher than the pre-waiver record.
- Crude oil shipments from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast increased to a record 180,000 bpd in May.
