Kalaris to Present Dual-Targeting VEGF/HSPG TH103 Phase 1a nAMD Data
KLRS•Kalaris Therapeutics will present Phase 1a single ascending dose results for TH103 in treatment-naïve neovascular AMD patients on June 13 at CTS 2026 in Las Vegas. TH103 is a fully human dual-targeting VEGF/HSPG biologic engineered for extended intraocular retention and is currently in Phase 1b/2 trials.
1. Presentation at CTS 2026
Kalaris Therapeutics will present single ascending dose results from its Phase 1a trial of TH103 in treatment-naïve neovascular AMD patients on June 13 at Clinical Trials at the Summit 2026 in Las Vegas. The session, titled “First-in-Human Trial of TH103: A Novel Dual-Targeting VEGF/HSPG Biologic in Treatment-Naïve nAMD,” will feature a presentation by Karl Csaky, MD, PhD.
2. TH103 Mechanism and Early Data
TH103 is a fully humanized recombinant fusion protein designed for intravitreal delivery, combining VEGF receptor 1 ligand binding with heparan sulfate proteoglycan anchoring to extend intraocular retention and enhance VEGF inhibition. The Phase 1a single ascending dose study in treatment-naïve patients showed initial safety and pharmacokinetic profiles supportive of further development.
3. Next Clinical Milestones
Kalaris is advancing TH103 into a combined Phase 1b/2 trial in neovascular AMD, with dosing cohorts and efficacy endpoints planned for later this year. Upcoming data readouts from the Phase 1b/2 study will inform dose selection, potential regulatory interactions and future partnership discussions.
