Kaltura says 2026 FIFA World Cup streaming tops 1.3 billion playback sessions

Kaltura said its live TV streaming support for broadcasters during the 2026 FIFA World Cup reached record scale across six production environments.

The company said it delivered 1.3 billion playback sessions, with peak concurrency of 7 million sessions, and supported 40 million registered devices.

Kaltura said it deployed AI agents to summarize environment health, track match-driven load, and speed investigations across all six production environments.

Kaltura said demand ran about 86% above the 2022 World Cup and that it monitored 30 million devices daily during active play.

Over four years, the company shifted its platform architecture from a monolithic backend to microservices to better scale spikes in authentication and playback requests.
