Kazia expands paxalisib trial into HR+/HER2- advanced breast cancer

Kazia Therapeutics expanded its ongoing TNBC trial into HR+/HER2- advanced breast cancer to test paxalisib-based combinations.

New preclinical results were presented now, showing the combinations were well tolerated and reduced tumor growth in HR+ models.

Data also suggest paxalisib may restore sensitivity in tumors resistant to CDK4/6 inhibitors, supporting a potential differentiation versus rivals.

First patient is expected before end-2026; full enrollment is targeted by end-2027; full study readout is slated for 2028.

Additional comparative preclinical data are scheduled for later in 2026, with clinical updates expected through 2027.
