Kazia says Sovargen doses first patient in Phase 1b/2a paxalisib trial for rare seizure disorders, triggers $2 million payment

The agreement shifts epilepsy development and commercialization to Sovargen in most markets, creating potential milestones of up to USD 17 million. Kazia retains paxalisib’s main clinical focus in oncology while the partner tests the drug’s potential in neurological indications.
Sovargen has dosed the first patient in a Phase 1b/2a trial of paxalisib for rare, treatment-resistant seizure disorders.
No clinical results have been presented yet, and data are expected later as enrollment and study follow-up continue.
