KBRKBR

KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions is providing real-time monitoring of spacecraft systems and astronaut health during the 10-day Artemis II lunar mission, the first crewed flight beyond low-Earth orbit since 1972. The company also delivered design, production and testing for the Space Launch System engine section under longstanding NASA contracts.

1. Mission Technology Solutions Support

KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions business is providing around-the-clock real-time monitoring and control of Orion spacecraft systems and astronaut health during the 10-day Artemis II lunar mission, marking the first crewed flight beyond low-Earth orbit since Apollo 17. The team executes routine procedures, resolves anomalies and manages astronaut training, simulations and camera operations under existing NASA human spaceflight contracts.

2. SLS Engine Design and Testing

Under its long-standing Space Launch System contract, KBR contributed primary design, production and testing support for the SLS engine section, performing modeling, analysis and manufacturing-process solutions to advance rocket performance and reliability for the Artemis II launch vehicle.

3. Strategic Importance and Future Opportunities

The Artemis II engagement underscores KBR’s proven human spaceflight capabilities and strengthens its portfolio for upcoming lunar and Mars missions. Continued support of NASA’s exploration initiatives could bolster KBR’s revenue streams and position the company for additional spacecraft development and mission operations contracts.
