KBR announced that it has been selected as one of the multiple awardees on the Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) contract, an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity vehicle with a procurement ceiling of $151 billion. The award enables KBR to provide systems engineering, integration and digital-engineering services across land, sea, air, space and cyberspace domains with an emphasis on rapid deployment and cost reduction. Mark Kavanaugh, President of Defense, Intelligence and Space at KBR, highlighted the company’s role under the Golden Dome for America initiative, noting that its artificial intelligence, machine learning and open-systems architecture capabilities will drive accelerated fielding of next-generation missile defense solutions. KBR employs approximately 37,000 professionals in more than 80 countries and brings decades of expertise in virtual prototyping, model-based systems engineering and agile development to this program.

2. KBR Secures Up to $350 M USGS Technical Support Services Contract

KBR has been awarded an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with the U.S. Geological Survey valued at up to $350 million over five years to modernize Earth-observation IT systems. The scope includes AI-enabled data analytics, cloud migration, cybersecurity enhancements and enterprise-scale geospatial information services. Following the award announcement, KBR’s share price rose by 6.7 percent, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s ability to leverage its digital-engineering and cloud-modernization expertise for civilian government agencies. The contract builds on KBR’s track record of delivering mission-critical technical support services to U.S. federal customers, reinforcing its position as a prime provider of advanced technology solutions in both defense and civil markets.
