KBR Wins $200 Million Five-Year DOT Contract for AI Transportation Systems

KBR’s technology unit secured a $200 million five-year contract to modernize U.S. transportation systems with AI-driven engineering, big data and simulation services. Under the TTEMS BPA, KBR will deliver Intelligent Transportation Systems, advanced Position Navigation Timing and aviation safety oversight solutions to FAA, FHWA and FMCSA.

1. Contract Award Details

KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions business won a recompete contract with a ceiling value of $200 million under a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement issued through the GSA MAS program. The award will be executed in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

2. Scope of Services

Under the Transportation, Technology & Engineering Mission Solutions (TTEMS) contract, KBR will provide engineering services, AI and machine learning, modern web frameworks, modeling and simulation techniques, and big data analytics. The work spans all U.S. DOT modal agencies including the FAA, FHWA, NHTSA and FMCSA, with firm fixed-price, time-and-materials and labor-hour calls.

3. Strategic Impact

This contract extends KBR’s 15-year partnership with the Volpe Center and strengthens its backlog and recurring revenue streams in critical infrastructure programs. The award highlights KBR’s growing footprint in AI-powered transportation modernization and long-term federal engineering support.
