Kemper swings to Q2 FY26 net loss of USD 464.8 million; revenue falls 10.84% to USD 1.09 billion

Non-GAAP adjusted consolidated net operating income fell to $26.3 million, or $0.45 per share, from $84.1 million, or $1.30 per share, a year earlier.
Revenue slid 10.84% to $1.09 billion, on lower Specialty Personal Automobile volumes and higher impairment losses, partly offset by higher Commercial Auto volumes.
CEO Stephen J. McAnena cited sequential improvement in underlying performance, pointing to better Personal Auto profitability and stable Life operating earnings.
Kemper reports quarterly loss after goodwill impairment
Kemper posted a GAAP net loss of $464.8 million, or $(7.90) per share, versus net income of $72.6 million, or $1.12, a year earlier.
Results included a $460 million non-cash goodwill impairment; management said it has no impact on liquidity, statutory capital, or debt covenant compliance.
