Keurig Dr Pepper names Kimberly-Clark executive as new CEO of coffee unit
KDP•Keurig Dr Pepper named Kimberly-Clark president and COO Russ Torres CEO of its coffee unit, which is expected to become a publicly traded company early next year. Torres will join on November 3 and lead the integration of Keurig’s and JDE Peet’s coffee operations.
1. Torres to lead coffee unit
Torres will initially serve as CEO of Global Coffee Co, Keurig Dr Pepper’s coffee unit, and report to CEO Tim Cofer, who will lead the beverage unit after the businesses separate into two U.S.-listed companies. Torres is currently Kimberly-Clark’s president and COO and has three decades of consumer goods experience.
2. Integration follows acquisition
Torres will lead the integration of Keurig’s and JDE Peet’s coffee operations. Keurig Dr Pepper closed its roughly $18 billion acquisition of JDE Peet’s earlier this year.
