Kincora Copper Expands Cowal East Tenure 40% and Launches Quantum Gravity Survey
Kincora Copper increased its Cowal East landholding by 40% to approximately 100 km2 and launched its first on-ground exploration in over a decade. The company formed a partnership with Atomionics to deploy quantum gravity technology and AI interpretation for comprehensive ground gravity surveys.
1. Tenure Expansion at Cowal East
Kincora Copper consolidated licences and expanded the Cowal East project by 40%, increasing its tenure to about 100 km² following a strategic southern extension. The enlarged licence package had remained inactive under previous right holders since 2015 and now marks the first on-ground work in over ten years.
2. Quantum Gravity Partnership with Atomionics
Kincora partnered with Atomionics to deploy its quantum-based Gravio system alongside AI-driven ORE-O modelling, aiming to enhance subsurface imaging with greater speed and resolution. The collaboration includes comparative surveys against traditional gravimetry, potentially reducing drilling budgets and accelerating target identification.
3. Geological Context within Cowal Igneous Complex
Kincora’s Cowal East lies within the world-class Cowal Igneous Complex, which hosts more than 20 Moz of gold and 5 Mt of copper, including Evolution Mining’s Cowal mine and Marsden porphyry system. The project area, 9 km east of Cowal mine and 4 km north of Marsden, remains underexplored.
4. Upcoming Exploration Program
A comprehensive ground gravity survey is underway, featuring infill coverage over known prospect areas and the full Jemalong licence. Results from the quantum gravity survey are expected to refine drill targets and guide sole-funded exploration phases commencing later this year.
