1. KKR Expands Data Center Platform With $1.5 Billion GTR Investment
KKR has committed an additional $1.5 billion of equity to Global Technical Realty (GTR), its European data center joint venture, to accelerate the rollout of AI-ready capacity across Europe. Oak Hill Capital has joined the funding round with a $400 million commitment, bringing total new equity to $1.9 billion. Proceeds will underwrite GTR’s 800 megawatt-plus pipeline of brownfield expansions and support 150 megawatts of greenfield projects in key markets including Frankfurt, London and Madrid. The firm’s broadened investment in data infrastructure follows a $220 million growth capital injection into European quantum computing startup Premialab and the completion of a €200 million (approximately $220 million) data center real estate acquisition in Seoul’s tech corridor, underscoring KKR’s strategy of combining platform-building with strategic tuck-ins to capture surging demand for hyperscale, energy-efficient facilities.
2. KKR to Acquire Arctos Partners at $1 Billion Valuation
KKR has reached agreement to acquire Arctos Partners, a sports-focused private equity firm, in a transaction that values Arctos at approximately $1 billion. Founded in 2018, Arctos has deployed over $800 million in capital into professional sports franchises and media rights, building a portfolio that includes minority stakes in Major League Baseball and European soccer clubs. The acquisition will fold Arctos’s specialized team of investment professionals into KKR’s global private equity platform, enhancing KKR’s exposure to sports assets and related digital media opportunities. KKR expects the deal to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
