KLA Set to Supply Metrology Tools for Musk’s High-Throughput Terafab Chips
KLAC•
KLAC•Elon Musk’s Terafab modular chip fabrication project targets high-throughput 200mm wafer production by 2027 and will require advanced metrology solutions. KLA is positioned to supply its wafer-inspection tools, which could accelerate process-control segment growth and contribute to its 2026 revenue outlook.
Musk’s Terafab project aims to build modular chip fabrication plants capable of processing 200mm wafers at volumes exceeding 200,000 per month by 2027. The design emphasizes scalable production lines and lower capital intensity, challenging traditional 300mm fabs with faster ramp times.
KLA stands to supply its advanced wafer-inspection and process-control equipment to Terafab, addressing critical yield and defect-monitoring needs. Tool orders tied to the project could lift KLA’s process-control segment growth by double digits and bolster its 2026 revenue guidance.
