Komatsu, Earthbrain partner with AIM Intelligent Machines on autonomous dozer, excavator operations
XLI•Japan launch targeted for 2027
Japan launch is targeted for 2027, aiming to address labor shortages while lifting safety and productivity across construction sites.
How the autonomy platform will work
Smart Construction plans and terrain data will feed AIM’s physical AI platform to automate execution, route selection and earthmoving tasks.
AIM’s autonomy kit is designed for retrofit, enabling customers to deploy autonomy on existing fleets without waiting for new machines.
Partnership to commercialize autonomous construction operations
Komatsu formed a strategic partnership with EARTHBRAIN and AIM Intelligent Machines to commercialize autonomous bulldozer and hydraulic excavator operations in the US and Japan.
US rollout has entered commercial deployment, with autonomous Komatsu machines already operating at customer jobsites.
