Koppers Q2 FY26 turns to loss of $147.5 million; net sales rise 3% to $520.1 million

Koppers posted a Q2 net loss of $147.5 million, swinging from profit as impairment, restructuring, and plant closure costs totaled $215.8 million.
Net sales rose 3% to $520.1 million versus the prior-year quarter.
GAAP diluted EPS fell to a loss of $7.71.
Adjusted EBITDA (non-GAAP) slipped 7.9% to $71 million, on higher raw material, freight and legal costs, unfavorable RUPS pricing, and 2025 divestitures.
Operations and outlook
Management accelerated the planned closure of its Stickney, Illinois CMC plant, citing continued market pressure and a more challenging margin environment through 2026.
