Kura Oncology-backed Caspian advances KO-7246 menin inhibitor toward first-in-human diabetes trials
KURA•Kura Oncology highlighted preclinical results for KO-7246, a menin inhibitor being advanced toward initial clinical evaluation, showing durable glycemic control in diabetes models and selective beta-cell regeneration in human islets.
1. Preclinical findings
Studies showed glycemic-control effects that persisted after dosing ended, and results indicated selective beta-cell regeneration in human islets. Combination findings suggested KO-7246 could complement GLP-1 therapy. Kura’s Caspian Therapeutics unit is conducting IND-enabling work; an investor webcast is scheduled for Oct. 13, 2026.
