Kura Oncology-backed Caspian advances KO-7246 toward Phase 1 diabetes proof-of-concept study
KURA•Caspian is advancing oral menin inhibitor KO-7246 toward a Phase 1 study to assess safety and look for evidence of increased endogenous insulin production. Preclinical and human islet findings supported the move toward clinical testing.
1. Path toward clinical testing
IND-enabling work is underway for a Phase 1 study of KO-7246, an oral menin inhibitor for diabetes. Animal studies showed improved glucose control and signs of restored insulin-producing capacity, with effects persisting after dosing stopped; human islet testing indicated selective expansion of insulin-producing cells.
